Yıllardır Amerika’da yaşadıktan sonra Türkiye’ye dönüp reklam ve medya sektöründe çalıştım ve bir kaç yıldır aklımda olan blogu hayata geçirmeye karar verdim.
Arada sırada Türkçemde kaymalar olursa affola - kimi zaman ‘chicken translate’ olabiliyor.
Özellikle bu sıkıntılı COVID günlerinde hepimizin ihtiyacı olduğu gibi, günlük hayata ufak bir dokunuşla eğlence eklemek isteyerek Hi güzelim yoluna koyuldum. Bu kimi zaman yeni bir mekan keşifi, aman haftasonu çok sıkıldım ne yapim, veya sırf canının istediği (ve hakkettiğimiz) için kendini ödüllendirmek olabilir.
Her ne kadar ‘muntazam’ bir kişi olsamda hep bir müzip tarafım olmuştur - ve Fragonard’ın The Swing adlı parçası hep aklıma gelir. Tam bir Rococo parçası olarak dereceli bir müzipliğe sahip bir tablo olduğunu düşünürüm.
Bende burada bu dengeyi kurmaya çalışacağım - güncel ve klasik keşifler arasında her daim hafif bir eğlence, bir müziplik.

English Portion
After having lived in the US for a number of years, I moved back to Turkey to pursue a career in advertising and media. Then I decided to start this blog that I had been toying with for a number of years. Because I spent so many years in the States, my Turkish does tend to slip now & again - so apologies for that ahead of time (though not really relevant for English).
Especially during these trying COVID times, I wanted to start Hi güzelim as a way of adding a bit of fun and uplifting mood to all of our daily lives - cause I certainly need a bit of uplift during uncertain times. Now this may be a new place to try, a discussion on OMG I’m so bored, what do we do this weekend, or celebrating one's self just because (and because we definitely deserve it).
Now as much as I’m a put together person I’ve always had a whimsy side. As an art history major I’ve always had a fondness for Fragonard’s The Swing - which to me perfectly sums up the Rococo period - perfectly put together with the perfect touch of whimsy.
And that is exactly what I will try to accomplish here: up-to date classics with a touch of whimsy and fun.
