Evde ufak tefek dokunuşlar
Ocak ayı genellikle ‘organizasyon’ olarak tanımlansa da ben bu sene biraz daha ileriye gidip daha fark yaratacak değişiklikler peşindeyim. Bu süreçlerde daha çok vakit evde geçiriyoruz diye mi yoksa evde oturdukça sıkıldığımız için midir bilmiyorum ama fazla bütçe gerektirmeyecek değişiklikler yapmaya karar verdim. Bende bu vesileyle eşyaların yerini değiştirip küçük birkaç dokunuşla evi ‘yenilemek’ için kolları sıvadım.
Yatak odasında ve salon kısmında eşyaların yerlerini değiştirdim ve bir şekilde hem daha çok ışık ve açık oldu ama bir o kadar da cozy ve intimate olduğunu düşünüyorum.
Hatta bu değişikliğe en çok ben mi yoksa kediler mi sevindi emin değilim.
Aynı zamanda H&M Home ve IKEA’da da beğendiğim bir kaç dekoratif ürünler var. Bence yeni bir nevresim seti olsun, dekoratif ürün olsun, farklı mutfak ürünleri olsun güzel bir farklılık ve yenilik yaratabiliyor. Mesela kendime yeni fırın kapları ararken Karaca’nın Mai serisine gözüm takıldı ve haydi diyerek birkaç yeni tabak almış oldum.
Birde damın akmasından dolayı geçtiğimiz yaz ev yeni badana-boya olmuştu ve birkaç duvar hala şöyle güzel bir iki resim/poster istiyor. Mesela Gray Malin’in fotoğraflarına bayılıyorum, üst kattaki ufak çalışma alanına Duwart’tan güzel bir Matisse posteri olsa ne güzel olur diyorum.
Bazı değişiklikler daha uzun vadeli ama bazılarıda hemen bir akşam üstü yapılabilecek şeyler. Onun için bende kendine güzel bir çiçek al, eve gelince birkaç mum yak, şarabını koy ve evde güzel bir keyif yap derim - ne de olsa 9’dan sonra sokağa çıkamıyoruz.
Freshening up the house
I know that most people like to organize their home come January as part of a “fresh start” but I’m going a bit more drastic this year. I don’t know if it's because we’re all spending a lot more time in our homes this year, or because after a while you get bored of the set-up but I wanted a bit of change without spending tons. With that I’ve decided to give my home a fresh look with small touches and some rearranging.
I’ve switched up my bedroom, and opened up more light, switched out the setup of my living room: and somehow my home feels more light & open and yet more cozy & intimate at the same time. To be honest I’m not sure if I’m more happy with the change or my cats - they seem to love the new set up.
I’m also eyeing a few things H&M Home and IKEA as a way to add some new accents without breaking the bank. Adding some small touches like a new set of bedding, decorative accents or adding a few new plates to your kitchen really brightens up the home and also your mood. While browsing for some bakeware I ended up getting myself some new plates from Karaca. I’m really loving the designs and the feel of the Mai series dinnerware and am looking forward to completing my set in the upcoming months.
Due to some water damage I recently had my apartment freshly painted and some walls are just begging for nice pieces of artwork. I love Gray Malin’s photographs and would love to add a print to my living area. I also really like some of the Matisse posters from Duwart for my little work area upstairs.
So while a few of these changes are a bit more long-term, and some are a bit more short term, but at the least buy yourself some flowers, light some candles, pour yourself a glass of wine and enjoy yourself (and your home).
