Cold & Rainy
Artık dışarıda takılmak için havalar baya soğudu. Eh yağmurunda el kulağında olunca, kapalı mekanlarda neler yapılabilir diye bakmaya başladım bile. Şahsen ben şehir içinde biraz gezip, yeni keşifler peşindeyim.
Yeniliklerden bahsederken yenilenen AKM’den bahsetmeden olmaz. En kısa zamanda hem gündüz gidip yeni Vitali Hakkı kütüphanesini keşfetmek istiyorum hemde eskiden olduğu gibi bir akşam konser, tiyatro ve bale gösterisine gidip tam bir akşam keyfi yapmak istiyorum. Eskiden ne güzel giyinilip akşam yemeğine Marmara Taksim oteline gidilirdi, sonra AKM de gösteri ve çıkınca sokakta satılan sıcacık kestane alırdık. Tam bir nostalji olur ama olabilecek en kısa zamanda gidip tam bir ‘İstanbul gecesi’ yaşamak istiyorum.
Tabii bir de ilk akla gelen sinemaya gitmek. Hazır sinemalar açılmışken ve vizyonda o kadar güzel film varken (ama ben birde House of Gucci ve Belfast filmlerini bekliyorum) tabii evde de sinema keyfi yapmak ayrı bir keyifli oluyor. Evde sinema keyfi için biraz şarap, biraz patlamış mısır, yeni bir film (mesela Netflix’in Red Notice). Hazır evdeyken spontan bir şekilde bir-iki arkadaşınıda çağırıp biraz UNO Flip (en yeni favori oyunum olabilir) oynamaya ne dersiniz.
Sonuçta eve havalar biraz bozuyor ve eğer benim gibi çabuk üşüyen (ve sigara içmeyen) bir kişi olarak mümkün olduğunca sıcak kalabileceğin iç mekanlara bakıyorsan tüm olasılıklar elinin altında.
It’s that time of year when the weather is officially too cold for many outdoor activities. And what with the upcoming rainy season, it’s time to look at what to do indoors. Personally I’m of a mind to go around and exploring new things around the city.
There is the newly reopened Ataturk Cultural Center - I can’t wait to go and explore, both the amazing new Vitali Hakko Library as well as the theater itself. The open and airy library looks like the perfect day to spend the day working on your computer with tons of new books to help you get inspired. And then in the evening it’s perfectly nostalgic to take in a show for a very cultural evening (followed by roasted chestnuts sold outside).
There is always going to the movies both in theater and at home. There are so many great movies already in theaters but personally I’m really looking forward to House of Gucci and Belfast to come. But sometimes a quiet evening at home with some wine & popcorn while watching a new movie like Netflix’s Red Notice is just perfect. While at it, call up a few friends for a casual get-together with a bunch of friends and play some UNO Flip (definitely my new favorite game).
So, sure the weather is becoming a bit more unpredictable and if you’re like me and you get cold really easily (and don’t smoke), all you really want is to be indoors, warm & cozy while having a great time.
